Soccer | Ching lifts Dynamo
HOUSTON - Brian Ching and Brad Davis led defending Major League Soccer champion Houston to the Western Conference finals Friday night, scoring in overtime after the Dynamo beat FC Dallas 2-1 in regulation to even the two-match, total-goals series.
The Dynamo will face the winner of the Kansas City-CD Chivas USA series.
Ching, a former Gonzaga and Seattle Sounders standout, and Stuart Holden scored second-half goals to help Houston win the match 2-1, tying the playoff series at two goals each and forcing two 15-minute extra periods.
Ching scored his second goal in the 97th minute. Davis connected on a free kick from 20 yards three minutes later.
Carlos Ruiz scored a first-half goal for FC Dallas.
